inside the cosmetology program

Our cosmetology program is a 1,500-hour training program that prepares you to become a licensed cosmetologist in the state of Tennessee. You’ll learn hands-on in a real salon environment and complete services on real clients before you graduate.

Students are trained in:

  • Cutting, color, lightening, styling, and hair extensions

  • Nails

  • Spray Tanning

  • Facials and waxing

  • Lash and brow services

  • Product knowledge + salon operations

You’ll also learn business skills, client communication, and professional readiness so you can build a successful career behind the chair, in a salon, or as a suite owner.

SALON-READY TRAINING

Once you pass your first 200 hours, everything becomes real. This is where you begin working like a true stylist—greeting guests, performing services, managing timing, and building the kind of confidence salons look for.

“This is the part of training where everything becomes real.”

You’ll learn how to lead full consultations, communicate professionally, and walk clients through service expectations. You’ll handle real clients daily and develop the timing, pace, and problem-solving skills that make stylists successful.

By the time you reach the later hours, you won’t just know what to do behind the chair—you’ll feel ready.

the last 200 hours

The last 200 hours are all about polish, professionalism, and preparing you for your career. This is where you complete your final practical and theory exams, perfect every State Board requirement, and build confidence in the skills you’ve trained for.

You’ll spend time refining your technique, reviewing theory, and rehearsing the practical portion until it feels second nature. This is also when you’ll complete your resume and professional portfolio, making sure you’re ready to apply to salons or suites with confidence.

We’ll take a field trip to local salons, giving you a chance to explore different atmospheres, meet stylists, and envision where you want to begin your career. You’ll also have a professional graduation photoshoot so you have beautiful images for your social media and personal brand.

By the end of these hours, you won’t just be prepared for State Board —you’ll be prepared for your future.
