2025 Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology scholarship program

Program Goal: To financially empower talented individuals to achieve their career goals in the beauty industry. We strive to make education and career paths more financially accessible, supporting both the future of cosmetology and passionate individuals.

Scholarship Awards:

  • The Golden Comb Award: One (1) $12,000 scholarship

  • The Silver Shears Award: One (1) $9,000 scholarship

  • The Bronze Brush Award: One (1) $6,000 scholarship

  • The Copper Clip Award: One (1) $3,000 scholarship*

*The Copper Clip Award scholarship will be awarded to each qualified application and cannot be combined with other scholarships.

Application Deadline: May 24, 2025

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Residency: Must be a resident of the state of Tennessee.

  2. Age: Must be 16 years of age or older.

  3. Proof of Identity: Must provide valid proof of identity (e.g., driver's license, state-issued ID).

  4. Application: Complete the official scholarship application form at https://app.tuiopay.com//registration/o526917

  5. Resume: Submit a current resume.

  6. Personal Essay: Submit a 500-word essay covering the following:

    • Your passion for cosmetology.

    • Your career aspirations within the beauty industry.

    • How the scholarship will contribute to your educational and professional goals.

    • Any personal information you wish to share that would aid the selection committee.

  7. Letter of Recommendation: Provide at least one letter of recommendation from a non-family member. 

  8. Transfer Hours: If you have earned hours/credits from a cosmetology program (high school or other institution), provide proof of those hours. If proof is not currently available, please indicate this in your application for further review once obtained. Also, if you have left another institution, please include why.

  9. Interview: Applicants must interview with the scholarship committee at Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology between May 24 and June 7, 2025. The interview will consist of a tour of the school and an interview, which will include questions about the information provided in your application.

  10. Enrollment Commitment: Must be prepared to begin attending Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology in Murfreesboro, TN, no later than June 24, 2025, and maintain a minimum attendance of 15 hours per week. Flexible scheduling options are available.

US Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.

Scholarship Maintenance:

If an individual is unable to fulfill the eligibility requirements or enrollment commitment at any time during the scholarship period, the scholarship may be voided.

  • The Silver Shears Award: One (1) $9,000 scholarship

    • Remainder of tuition: $9,000

    • Student Kit (non-refundable): $2,500

    • Student Kit Sales Tax (non-refundable): $243.75

      • Total Cost: $11,743.75

        • 0% interest Monthly payment for 24 months: $489.32

  • The Bronze Brush Award: One (1) $6,000 scholarship

    • Remainder of tuition: $12,000

    • Student Kit (non-refundable): $2,500

    • Student Kit Sales Tax (non-refundable): $243.75

      • Total Cost: $14,743.75

        • 0% interest Monthly payment for 24 months: $614.32

  • The Copper Clip Award: One (1) $3,000 scholarship

    • Remainder of tuition: $15,000

    • Student Kit (non-refundable): $2,500

    • Student Kit Sales Tax (non-refundable): $243.75

      • Total Cost: $17,743.75

        • 0% interest Monthly payment for 24 months: $739.32

Fine Print:

  • Scholarship funds will be applied as credits towards tuition at Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology in Murfreesboro, TN.

  • Any remaining tuition balance after the scholarship application is the responsibility of the student.

  • Scholarships are non-transferable to other locations or schools and cannot be redeemed for cash.

  • Any Discounts or Scholarships applied to your enrollment agreement are non-refundable.

  • The student kit is non-refundable.

  • In the event of withdrawal or removal from the program, the student will be responsible for payment of the tuition fees corresponding to the portion of the program completed.

  • Students receiving scholarships must complete their cosmetology program and graduate by July 1, 2027. Any additional hours required for graduation after this date will be billed at the standard hourly rate of $26 per hour.

  • By applying for this scholarship, the student agrees to allow Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology to use their name, image, and likeness in marketing materials.

  • Students must adhere to all school rules and the code of conduct.

  • Subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law.

  • The Golden Comb, Silver Shears, and Bronze Brush scholarships, valued at $12,000, $9,000, and $6,000 respectively, are exclusively for new applicants. Current or existing students are not eligible for these particular scholarships.

  • In the event that fewer than 20 applications are received, Glam & Grit reserves the discretion to withhold the awarding of the $6,000, $9,000, and $12,000 scholarships.

Selection Process:

  • Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee.

  • Selection will be based on the strength of the application, the personal essay, and the interview.

  • Applicants will find out if they have received a scholarship after the interview process, which takes place between May 24 and June 7, 2025.

  • Glam & Grit School of Cosmetology reserves the right to make all final decisions.
